Meet The Web
You don't build anything yet. First learn what the browser is actually doing.
12 phases · 177 quests · free
Learn fullstack web development, from how the browser works to deploying a real app. Raise a creature while you do it: quizzes train it, shipped projects make it evolve.
pick one of us. we grow when you ship projects.
Each phase is broken into small checkpoints. Learn the topic from any source, then pass its five-question quiz.
Every phase ends in a project. Submit the GitHub repository and the live link to prove it runs.
Quizzes train your companion's stats. Projects give XP, and XP levels it up through four forms.
Twelve phases in order, about 45 weeks at a steady pace. Each one opens when the last is finished.
00 · Week 1
You don't build anything yet. First learn what the browser is actually doing.
01 · Weeks 2–3
Learn HTML before being asked to magically build a website.
02 · Weeks 3–5
Now make the ugly HTML thing actually look intentional.
03 · Weeks 6–9
You already know programming. This is JavaScript-for-the-browser, not a loop tutorial.
04 · Weeks 10–12
Now your frontend can ask other computers for data.
05 · Weeks 13–18
React comes after the browser + JavaScript mental model exists in your head.
06 · Weeks 19–21
Backend starts here. You know how the browser asks a server for things. Now you become the thing being asked.
07 · Weeks 22–25
Express is now an abstraction you understand instead of magic, because you already built the raw version.
08 · Weeks 26–29
Learn databases clearly enough that the data layer isn't black magic.
09 · Weeks 30–35
Frontend + backend + database finally become one application.
10 · Weeks 36–44
Make an existing app safer and more professional. For testing: write the test first, watch it fail red, then make it pass green. That flip is the whole payoff.
11 · Weeks 45+
No more course collecting. Build something people could actually use.
Every creature hatches as a baby and evolves at levels 16, 32, 50. Its stats come from what you actually do: quizzes, focus sessions, snacks and shipped projects.
Chaotic little menace. Eats bugs. Literally.
Gobbit → Grubnik → Hobgrunt → Gobzilla
Hatches warm. Stays hot. Hoards commits like gold.
Embit → Scorchling → Pyrowyrm → Infernodrake
Absorbs knowledge. And keys. And one semicolon it won't give back.
Blip → Gloopy → Slimeon → Omniooze
Haunts your 3am debugging sessions. Supportively.
Boolet → Haunty → Spectrix → Voidwraith
Runs on logic. Refuses to parse HTML with regex.
Bolty → Cogling → Mechanaut → Titan.exe
Eight arms, eight open tabs. Types 300 WPM.
Squib → Inklet → Krakode → Leviathan
Knocks your coffee off the desk. And your prod database.
Pixit → Bytecat → Glitchpaw → Nyan.null
Grows slowly. Networks with everything. Basically a microservice.
Sporelet → Shroomkin → Mycelord → Fungaia
15, 25 or 50 minute sessions. Finishing one trains FOCUS and restocks the snack pantry.
Notes for every checkpoint, searchable by topic or by anything you wrote.
Every project you shipped, with its code, live link and write-up in one place.
Twenty-three to earn, from your first quest to clearing the whole roadmap.
Pop your creature out on top of other tabs so it can keep an eye on you.
A code editor with a live preview, right next to each quest. Write HTML, CSS and JavaScript and watch it run.
Creature HQ is a free, self-paced roadmap for learning fullstack web development, from how the browser works to deploying a real app. You raise a creature companion as you go: passing checkpoint quizzes trains its stats, and shipping projects levels it up until it evolves.
Beginners who can already think a little like a programmer and want a structured path through HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, SQL, authentication, TypeScript, testing and deployment, without collecting endless courses.
No. Creature HQ is free and has no ads. You only need an account so your progress is saved.
Anywhere you like. Every checkpoint names a topic and links to YouTube, Wikipedia and web searches for it. Then you prove it with a short five-question quiz.
Project checkpoints need real proof: a public GitHub repository and a deployed link anyone can open, plus a short write-up of what you built and learned. Only projects give XP, and XP is what makes your companion evolve.
Yes. Sign in with Google or email and your companion, quests, quiz answers, notes and projects are saved to your account and load on any device.
Hatch it today. By the time you deploy your first fullstack app, it'll be a Infernodrake.
